The Election is Finally Over

I wanted to post this yesterday but I was just tired and wanted a break from blogging. The election is finally over and Trump has won. I know that many didn't see this happening, neither did I, but it happened. The problem is that people are out protesting the results, furious that Clinton didn't win. The thing is that the people don't actually vote for the President. We don't live in a direct Democracy, meaning that the vote of the people would actually elect the President.

The Electoral College is the one that actually does it. In mid-December, they will meet in their respected State Capitals and cast their vote. Those are the people that actually elect the President, not us. If they got rid of the college then the vote of the people would actually elect the President. The whole rioting and mobs tell me that the American people don't actually understand anything about how the President gets into the White House.

They are ignorant of the process that they take part in, but I'm not. I know how the process works and I would love the college to be removed. To know that my vote actually elects the President would be great. Still, one can only wish for that. Let's hope that nothing happens to Trump and that he turns out to be a good President. We need a good one.
